Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Visiting Research Scholar to join the research team led by Dr. Omid Hamid, Chief of Translational Research and Immuno-Oncology, Chief of the Phase I Program, and Co-Director of the Melanoma Program. Dr. Hamid has led pioneering clinical trials in immuno-oncology, including first-in-human studies of Ipilimumab, Nivolumab, Pembrolizumab, and Vemurafenib—trials that transformed melanoma treatment.
This role offers a unique educational opportunity for a physician-scientist with an interest in early-phase oncology trials and translational research. The Visiting Scholar will support clinical research efforts with a focus on:
- Investigator-Initiated Trials (IIT) startup and maintenance
- Biobank coordination
- Single Patient Access (SPA) program
- Clinical trial startup process evaluation
- VA Melanoma Database Project
This is a non-clinical position with no patient care responsibilities and no medical staff privileges. EPIC access will be provided to support research-related activities.
Appointment is from September 8, 2025 – June 30, 2026
Role Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must reside in the greater Los Angeles area during the appointment
- Visitors: Must be sponsored by an academic or professional institution
Preferred:
- MD, PhD, or equivalent background as a physician-scientist
- Experience in oncology clinical trials, immunotherapy, and translational research
