How would you like to impact the patients Perioperative experience?
Under joint direction of the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and the Executive Director and Associate Director, Perioperative Services, the Anesthesia Patient Care Specialist will:
- play an essential role in the coordination, implementation and patient experience and patient flow for Perioperative Services.
- develop a program for personal follow-up visits of all inpatients and outpatients having anesthesia with 24-48 hours of care and document the care.
- participate in data collection, management and reporting of risk and quality documents.
- utilize skills to effectively collaborate in the management and improvement of the patient experience and follow-up of clinical events.
- participate in the Performance Improvement Committee.
- develop targeted solutions to support organizational initiatives and proactively manage quality functions while communicating with a diverse audience.

Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or healthcare administration profession which requires a professional license or national certification to practice, or in business administration, public health, health administration or related field required.
- Graduate of state accredited nursing program - BSN preferred.
- Master's Degree in nursing or healthcare administration profession which requires a professional license or national certification to practice, or in business administration, public health, health administration or related field is preferred.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
- Current California State License - Registered Nurse or other professional licensure in similar background
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
- National Specialty Certification preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years recent experience in healthcare setting or as a provider of services to the healthcare industry
- Minimum 2 years recent expeirence in healthcare risk and quality improvement programs preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience in perioperative care preferred.
