Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree required.

Master's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field strongly preferred.

 

 

License/Certification Requirements:

CRA certification strongly preferred

 

Experience:

•Seven to ten years of progressively increasing pre- and post- award research administration experience or equivalent of education and experience. Progressively responsible financial and project management experience in an academic medical center, complex organization, public agency or higher education institution required. Experience in the coordination of research, grant writing, and proposal development preferred.

•Demonstrated supervisory and/or management experience in an academic research environment. Proven ability to lead and manage people including selecting, developing, motivating and retaining people who meet unit objectives preferred.

•Ability to promote effective collaboration and teamwork among individuals of multiple disciplines and across organizational boundaries.

•Outstanding written and oral communication skills to write business communications, make groups presentations, and effectively impart information at staff meetings.

•Grant writing skills and detailed knowledge of pre- and post-award grant management and associated regulations, budget development, and financial analysis.

•Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

•Fiscal management skills to prepare, monitor and control budgets, reduce expenses and generate increased revenues.

•Ability to maintain accurate records and to prepare summary reports.

•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as financial accounting systems.

•Working knowledge of federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars for institutions of higher education or non-profit organizations.

•Ability to work independently within the Institute and with other central administrative units of the institution.

•Ability to be flexible and highly organized.

•Ability to effectively manage complex situations;

•Ability to develop and bring to completion multiple assignments concurrently;

•Ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment;

•Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial audiences;

•Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills;

•Ability and enthusiasm for working collaboratively within a strong team environment;

•Ability to act with discretion and judgment and maintenance of confidentiality;

•Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service.
