Nurse Practitioner - Interventional Cardiology

Educational Requirements:

• Master of Nursing Degree required
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered. Nursing as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code

License/Certification Requirements:

• Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License required
• National Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner required 
• DEA license (or eligibility to obtain) required
• IRB Certification preferred (will be required to obtain within one year of hire)
• Current BLS provider card from the American Heart Association required
• Current ACLS provider card from the American Heart Association required

Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient hospital based nursing experience required
• 2 years of Critical Care, Emergency Room or Post Anesthesia Care Unit experience preferred
• Cardiac experience preferred
• Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.

Physical Demands:

• The physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions
• Able to transport patients by wheelchair, gurney and/or bed with IV poles and other medical equipment
• Occasional lift and or carrying of equipment, supplies weighting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to assist in lifting patients, transferring patients from wheelchair to gurney, or gurney to procedure table with bending, reaching or twisting during the performance of a procedure
• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to wear lead protective (up to 25 lbs) gear and other PPE for extended periods of time
• Ability to function in a fast pace, high volume of patients, family, visitors and health care providers
• Heavy phone and communication interaction
