Educational Requirements:

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

             Juris Doctor required.

             Member of the California Bar in good standing.

             10+ years of demonstrated quality employment litigation experience, which must include a minimum of 7 years in a national law firm representing large, complex organizations, and a minimum of 3 years as in-house counsel in a large organization; experience with health care employers strongly preferred.  Recent experience must include representation within the State of California.

             Thorough and current knowledge of relevant state and federal employment laws and regulations.

             Experience investigating and responding to government agency complaints.

             Solid knowledge/understanding of human resources practice principles.

             Demonstrated superior judgment and ability to influence outcomes in sensitive and/or high profile issues.

             Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as listening, fact-finding, problem solving, and negotiation skills.

             Demonstrated experience working in a high-pressure environment with multiple competing priorities.

             Exemplary organization skills.

             Excellent customer service skills, including demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all individuals at all levels of a large complex organization

             Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

             Unquestioned integrity.

             Strong, sensitive and effective leadership skills; must have supervisory experience.

                  Sound judgment.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)

 

             Ability to travel to departments and various locations both throughout the Medical Center and offsite.

             Occasional evening, night and weekend hours as needed, including occasional extended workdays

             Occasionally lift and transport up to 25 lbs (files)

             Ability to work at computer for extended periods of time
