Summary of Essential Job Duties:
You will be responsible for driving a 38-foot mobile medical unit (MMU) to various Los Angeles County locations as part of a hospital-based community outreach program.
- You will assist with MMU set-up, breakdown, maintenance and security
- You may help with patient intake including vital signs/hearing and vision screenings, and registration
- You will travel various communities to provide health services in all weather conditions
- You may provide health services/community work on various Saturdays/Sundays as needed.
Required Experience:
Minimum one-year experience driving passenger van, tractor-trailer, bus, RV or similar vehicle.
Educational & License Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- DMV- Current Class A or B Commercial California Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Successful completion of a CNA, clinical partner course, or comparable training preferred
- BLS certification (Course A) preferred
- No infraction in driving record for previous three years
- Basic knowledge of motor vehicle repair and maintenance
- Full command (verbal and written) of the English language
- Bi-lingual, Spanish/English preferred
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment
- Ability to drive to various sites
- The physical ability and perceptive acuity to perform all mobile medical unit operations and all direct and indirect patient care functions
