Experience:
One (1) year experience in gynecologic and/or non gynecologic interpretation, preferred.
Educational Requirements:
Baccalaureate Degree in a biological science or a minimum of two years of college if ASCP exam passed prior to August 1988.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
A valid California Cytotechnologist license and ASCP Board of Registry certification as a Cytotechnologist.
Physical Demands:
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with peers, patients, physicians and other customers of the medical center.Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
Frequent sitting and standing; occasional walking and bending; occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds for distances to 10 feet.
Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including telephones, beepers, fire alarms, mechanical failure alarms.
Near visual acuity including color differentiation.
Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients and other customers.
Exposure to minimal but constant noise levels.
Repetitive hand motions.
Microscopic work contributing to eye strain and back fatigue.
