Clinical Nurse II

EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION

1. Certification from accredited school and current California RN licensure to practice required.
2. Minimum 1+ years experience in Pediatrics.
3. Current CPR certification required.
4. Proven customer service and patient care skills.
5. Understanding of patient care flow and insurance concepts.
6. Ability to correctly set up exam rooms/procedure rooms using sterile/aseptic technique with appropriate instruments or trays.
7. Ability to prepare patient for office visit/procedures.
8. Ability to correctly perform vital signs and accurately document and record significant data.
9. Ability to correctly prepare lab work/specimens for pick up.
10. Ability to perform designated testing and specimen collection.
11. Understanding of cleaning, sterilization of autoclaving procedures.
12. Ability to determine current medications that patient is using and record accurately.
13. Understanding of pharmacology and medication administration including oral, SQ, IM and IV medications.
14. Ability to perform and record QC testing on designated equipment and determine areas needing improvement.
15. Ability to problem solve and prioritize work assignments.
16. Ability to schedule "nurse visits" for phlebotomy, testing or other procedures.
17. Ability to handle provider correspondence and communications as related to clinical care.
18. Understanding of medical supply ordering and cost containment.
19. Leadership abilities preferred.
20. Strong interpersonal skills, especially in the areas of patient and physician relations.
21. Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft office, IDX, or other computerized practice management systems preferred.
