Educational Requirements:
If RT, satisfactory completion of a formal Radiology Technology training in an AMA approved school program
If CVT, graduate of an accredited training program eligible to sit RCIS or RCES or IBHRE certification.
License/Certification Requirements:
Current BCLS provider card required
If RT: Fluoroscopy permit and minimum of 2 years radiology or has completed educational training involving clinical rotations in either Cath Lab/Special Procedures.
Current BCLS provider card-required
Current ARRT and CRT certification.
Fluoroscopy permit
If Cardiovascular Tech:
RCIS/RCES Certification preferred
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred
Experience:
2-3 years of experience in the electrophysiology lab preferred
Physical Demands:
The physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions.
- Able to transport patients by wheelchair, gurney and/or bed with IV poles and other medical equipment
- Occasional lift and or carrying of equipment, supplies weighting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be assist in lifting patients, transferring patients from wheelchair to gurney, or gurney to procedure table with bending reaching or twisting during the performance of a procedure.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Able to perform CPR in procedure room setting while in lead protective gear.
- Able to apply and maintain hand pressure on arterial and venous puncture sites, and continued pressure for extended periods of time
- Ability to wear and stand in lead protective (up to 25 lbs) gear and other PPE for extended periods of time.
