QUALIFICATIONS

Educational requirements and/or preferences (Licensure, Registration, Certification, Experience, Other):

 

CA Pharmacist license

ASHP accredited residency in Primary Care or equivalent experience.

Doctor of pharmacy degree, PharmD

Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology as related to drug usage.

Comprehensive knowledge of common disease states and pathologies and ability to apply current

pharmacological and biopharmaceutical principles.

Ability to comprehend patient medical management plans.

Ability to extract pertinent information from the patient or other sources and relate it to the medical

management plan.

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to serve as preceptor for teaching/training program.

Ability to give advice on and monitor the use of drugs in medical emergencies.

Knowledge of laws, regulations and standards relative to Institutional Pharmacy practice and

prescription dispensing.

Ability to prioritize workflow.

Ability to recommend, develop, and expand programs and services to meet the therapeutic needs of the patients.

Current eligibility to obtain and NPI and a DEA number.

Ability to learn and adapt to the use of automated information systems in daily practice.

Demonstrated competency in pharmaceutical calculations and pharmacokinetics.
